  • Manufacturers involved in planned maintenance or service contracts were most likely to report service as a profit center with 62 percent reporting profitability. 
  • Respondents doing field service for break-fix repairs were less likely to report profitable aftermarket service than those only selling aftermarket parts. 
  • Companies reporting fully servitized operations were three times more likely to be profitable if they only offered services rather than products.
